Performance Poetry by Y6 during World Book day Mar ch 2015. This is based on our Pirate visitor to New Pasture Lane and his stories.
As we’ve been completing Shakespeare’s Macbeth Unit this term . We decided to write it in the style of an Iambic Pentameter.
(chorus)
A Pirates life is just the thing for me
The biscuits are so crunchy and so fine
The Black Swan rolls and often makes me sick
Above the ship I see a thousand miles
WE never eat, we’re starved, we’re skeletons
It’s exciting when you sneak upon their boss
A Pirates life is just the thing for me
The biscuits are so crunchy and so fine
Our battle cry it never seems to fail
We love to make the prisoners beg and wail
You rip, you fall, you die, you scream you’re doomed.
It’s satisfying when they walk the plank
Once thrown the sharks begin their merry dance
I love it when my sword begins to sing
A Pirates life is just the thing for me
The biscuits are so crunchy and so fine
My treasures full of gold doubloons and pearls
A pirate smells just like a donkey’s bum.
I fell right off the boat and hit the rocks
You live you die you’re fate is up to you
A Pirates life is just the thing for me
The biscuits are so crunchy and so fine
