Slavery

Slavery life

Opening my eyes to the sight of hundreds of stinking bodies crammed closely together.  I was unable to move my limbs felt heavy and ached after being rapidly wiped every day. I just want to die!

The nigh time was the only time that I felt safe even though through total darkness fall over the ship like a blanket. I heard the waves splashing against the deck and tasted the salt of the breeze on my face. The air was filled with the constant sounds of moans and groan.

When we arrived I couldn’t see anything I’d been inside for so long, I was toally blinded by the brilliant sunshine on deck. Everyone appeared like zombies and skeletons rising form the dead in chains.

I have been living on this plantation for over 5 years now and it’s driving me mad!

Each day is the same harvesting sugar cane… I have to sleep in a smelly cramp dogs kennel outside. As soon as the sun rise. Iam tired and aching not knowing if I will be able to last another day. The beatings are constant don’t like harvesting.

Many years ago in my old homeland I can remember a story about a little boy called Kirikou was small and incredibly brave.

Karaba was an evil and powerful sorceress who hated men and women and often hurt the villager by stealing their gold and causing drought. If they didn’t do as she ordered. She sent her robotic shapoes called fetished to burn down their huts. All the villages suffered. Fetishes are fearless robots who obey her without questioning.

Kirikou began his adventure to overcome evil magic . He found a determined way to stop Karaba and disguised as a bird he pulls a poisonous thorn form her back.

In the end Kirikou kisses Karaba and both turn into  a couple  who marry and live happily ever after. This shows that determination and resilience can overcome anything
