Jonny Jalepeno – performance poetry Y6

My name is Jonny Jalepeno, with a capital J,
Jolly but jealous and jumpy in every way,
A jumbled, jangled beard frames my jagged face,
with a jelly-tastic belly that wobbles when I race.
Although I may jest about the jaunts that I’ve had,
I’m really, really, really not that bad!

My name is Jonny Jalepeno with a capital J,
When lounging in the sun, I get very hot as I lay.
So I move to the shade to cool off-NOT!
Often falling asleep beside my cot.
As I twist and turn, I try not to jiggle,
Because it makes the ants crawling in my beard wriggle.

My name is Jonny Jalepeno with a capital J,
Food is something for which I DO NOT pay.
Jelly fish are a sight to see in the deep, blue ocean
But when I’m sooo thirsty all I do is turn to potions.
Rumble, rumble from my tum that jack-knifes into oblivion,
I need to find something, even if it’s an amphibian.

My name is Jonny Jalepeno with a capital J,
On my trusted pirate ship, I begin to jolt and sway.
In a storm my jib swings back jetting me through the waves,
Taking me far out to sea towards the jewel filled caves.
I don’t give a jot of where I have been,
So long as I lay low unable to be seen.

My name is Jonny Jalepeno with a capital J,
At night I go to battle but treasure hunt by day.
When I have a sword fight it is often with a jester,
I stab him in the jugular and his body begins to fester.
Although I smell worse than a jazzy slipper
Nothing smells quite as bad as a rotten kipper. Yo ho ho!
