Do you think slavery Is right?
Did you know that slavery has been around for 1000’s of years? After the Greeks and Romans invaded Britain taking people for slaves. William Wilberforce fought to stop slavery in the British Parliament in the 1800’s before that this created enormous vast wealth too many countries.
It was a fact that slavery was increased the trade and produce of the country this was possible because it could cost only £350 to buy a slave which would then bring the employer much wealth. Due to the free labour they bought slaves to do their work for them.
The pro-slavery lobby used many reasons and excuses to defend the trade and show how important it was for Britain. For example:- Mr Norris put the argument forward to Parliament in 7177 that the African slaves were unfit for any other work and he also stated, that the slaves were not ill-treated unless they were rebellious and that the conditions on the ship were of a good standard. Another argument used to keep slavery going, was that the slavery in Africa was going to keep happening and was far worse than the transatlantic slave trade. Therefore the slaves were better off in other countries.
All of these comments were lies to keep the slavery trade in business as many captains and plantation owners benefited from the trade and didn’t want to lose the power influence that they had gained. The anti- slavery lobbyists used many reasons to stop slavery in Britain and it took many years for them to understand the reasons for change.

Slavery agreement & disagreements
Previously William Wilberforce helped put the stop to slavery in the 1800’s but the Greek’s, Roman’s Viking’s, the British Empire & America had all made measureless amounts of money from slavery. William Wilberforce a British M.P tussled for over 20 years and finally acquired the fight to free the slaves from their dread.
Slavery is upright in some ways it sponsored England for hundreds of years we built the bank of England cites & lot more Briton would not be as it now. The party of people who wanted slavery where very influential. They used many justifications such as the slaves rooms on ships where very sophisticated, freshened with incredible senses they had their home food & they said they were not worked hard.
The lobby of anti-slave trade were not dumb they realised the stories were lies, so they made a group of people called anti-slavery trade committee. They heard of stories of men jumping over board whipping and lies so they fought to get people to join there clan to fight and fight as years .
Years went past, eventually they were successful in there campaign.

Should Africans have been treated this way?
Slavery has been with us for many years. It began with the Ancient Greeks and the Vikings and the Americans soon began capturing Africans and putting them into Slavery. A man called William Wilberforce fought hard for Slavery to stop, eventually, 800,000 slaves were immediately released.
There isn’t a doubt that the money brought into countries who were included in the ‘Slave Triangle’ helped to fuel Slavery. Many people believed that they did this so the captain of the ship would become wealthy, buying power and influence. Everyone should be treated exactly the same and not go into being a Slave.
There were several reasons used by the anti-slavery lobby. On the one hand, if something is wrong, it is wrong whether others did it or not. On the other hand, the slavery that existed in Africa was very different from the Transatlantic Slave Trade. However, the trade was damaging to Africa and William Wilberforce summed this up in his speech in 1789. The Africans suffered greatly from being removed from their homeland. Some people say that the slaves jumped overboard when they got the chance so they didn’t have to be ion the slave ship for 6 months just to be sold.
Slavery has been an issue for many years and continues to be. Thanks to William Wilberforce (WW) and his friends, millions of people in Slavery returned to their homeland.

Do you think slavery should exist?
Before the slavery ended it had been around for to thousands of years. William Wilberforce spent almost 20 years of his life as an M.P. Trying to end slavery, Greeks, Romans and Vikings all have been part of slavery. The people involved in slavery received enormous amounts of money and became very influential from it.
It’s a fact that everybody who was involved in shipping and plantations became extremely wealthy from the slave trade. The money from the slave trade was used to continue slavery. Furthermore the benefits created new banks and whole industries such as: tobacco, sugar and cotton.
Slavery continued because of the lies that people told. Some slave ships captains would say, “the slaves received the best treatment ever treatment such as: a clean water to wash with, the most delicious food ever and entertainment!” However none of this was true. It was all used to protect the slave triangle and hide the truth from the average uneducated citizen in Britain.
There are several reasons used by
Slavery is a very wrong thing, fortunately William Wilberforce and his friends stopped part but part still goes on now. Millions of people still suffer greatly.

Slavery argument.
Slavery good or bad?

Did you know Slavery has been around for thousands of years. Romans, Greeks and Vikings have all been involved in this trade. However the British Empire and Americans also started this in later life thinking it was a normal thing to do! . Slavery created vast wealth for many countries and cities. They even created banks out of the money earned from slavery. It took a brave and resilient man in the 1870’s William Wilberforce started a campaign to abolish slavery. Everyone had their reasons to either defend or hate it.
At the time here seemed to be many good points for slavery. Ships captains who sold the slaves received a vast amount of money. Additionally the slaves were given food and shelter, plus a place to sleep. The money that the people got for selling slaves was put towards cheap goods to trade for more slaves. The rest of the money went to the cities so they could produce banks and new buildings.
Many people who had so much to lose made up things about slavery, saying that the Africans are happy being slaves that the Africans have attractive apartments and get to sing and dance and make pots with beads that are provided for them. Furthermore they said that they got fed special African food and on an evening typical European food. Even the bible was used to defend slavery saying that Abraham agreed with it.
There were lots of reasons used by the anti-slavery group. It took a few years for people to understand what was going on because of all the lies and deceit from the slave traders. No one realised what the slaves were going through, they got tortured. Therefor you shouldn’t follow the people who are in the wrong.
Slavery is still around nowadays but not as bad as it used to be. It’s now been abolished. If it wasn’t for William Wilberforce African slavery would still be around and the world would be a different place. It took hundred of years to argue the case that it was wrong.

Is slavery good
Th
e slave trade has been around of thousands of years. Greeks, Romans, Vikings and American’s have all kidnapped people from their countries then sold or used them as slaves. William Wilberforce an M.P. from Hull fought and had stopped the slavery in 1870, however it took 20 years to agree within the government to stop it.
On one hand people thought that slavery was good because they made lots of money. They also built banks from the pro
fits of the money; some people even got to keep the slaves to do the work for them. The people who worked with the slave trade earned a lot of money and power for their countries.
People used excuses to make slavery continue. Taking Africans from their homeland actually benefited them. They argued that Africans were unskilled and couldn’t do any other job. Many ordinary people in Britain were uneducated and travelled little further than their own village and it was easy to suggest the slave trade was tolerated and approved of by god in the days of Abraham
There were many reason’s used by the anti-slavery group. They collected evidence to show that many resisted or preferred death to transportation. The statistics , also show of the appalling low life expectancy of slaves on the plantations(7-9 years on some large plantations). The anti-slavery society also asked the bible to back up their argument. They pointed to biblical text like Luke as illustrated and the speech made by William Wilberforce to parliament in 1789 and by testimony from people like ships doctor James Ramsey and that overall slavery should be abolished.
Slave
ry has been stopped but is still around the world. If William Wilberforce hadn’t done his job , then slavery would just have on. Millions of people were suffocating all over the world, but William Wilberforce was strong enough to stop the slave trade.

Arguments that were put forward to parliament to support the slave trade were, that the Africans were already involved in slavery taking people from their homeland actually benefited them because otherwise they would have been executed.
There are many reasons were used by anti-slavery group to stop slavery. It took people years to understand them the reason why it should end. Because they thought they could just take people from the own countries and keep them as slaves, making them work for nothing.
Slavery has been an issue for years and continues to be around. However it wasn’t for William Wilberforce, people would still be suffering or dying.
