A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHURCH MOUSE

Close the door I feel like my whiskers are going to freeze off! “Oh” hi my name is Donny; you wouldn’t believe how much I have seen in the past 900 years. I remember when henry the 8th nocked half of the priory down. My whole family live here all 47 of us. There have been some good times and some bad but I love living here anyway. One of the bonuses of living in a priory is that you get an invitation to every wedding, funeral and christening.

My favourite time has to be when the priory’s first organ was built. It was massive and while I was hanging out in my favourite spot these two humlings walked by and they said it is the biggest in the world. It is so lovely to listen to and one night I had a little go myself. WOW it’s much louder up close, absolutely booming!

My worst time in this priory was on my 149th birthday this little boy probably 6 years old called Paul Joyce walked up to me and started poking me with his sharp fingernails. After he was bored of poking me he found a needle on the floor, then he began to rub on me with it, when he had finished he walked away with a guilty grin on his face. I looked he had engraved a ballet dress on me BUT IM A BOY!!!

900 years is a long time and it’s amazing that it is still standing. I’d love the priory to fit in a heater; I’m loosing feeling in my tail.TTFNmouse singing
